On the campus of the College of Shariah and Law, within the modern Sultanate of Oman, the masjid of Kulliyat al Shariah wa al Qanun offers students, staff, and visitors a dignified setting for worship, for reflection, and for the daily application of the very principles they study in the lecture halls. The campus mosque blends traditional Omani features with the calm symmetry of a modern public building. Its walls of pale stone are capped by a low dome above the main prayer hall, while a slender minaret of fine workmanship rises beside the entrance courtyard. Inside, richly patterned carpets align every worshipper precisely with the qiblah, while calligraphic panels above the mihrab preserve verses of the Holy Qur'an and sincere salawat upon the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. Students gather between classes for dhikr and for voluntary additional prayers.
