Tentang

Across the Sharjah neighbourhood in which it stands, the Al Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal Mosque carries the name of the celebrated third century Iraqi scholar whose teachings on Prophetic narrations continue to shape the study of hadith across the Muslim world. Sharjah itself is the third largest emirate of the United Arab Emirates and has been honoured by UNESCO as the Cultural Capital of the Arab World, a recognition that reflects its extensive investment in museums, research institutes, Arabic calligraphy festivals, and restored heritage districts along the creek. Its Islamic life is carried on through hundreds of neighbourhood mosques. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal lived in Baghdad between the years 780 and 855 of the Common Era. He travelled widely in search of Prophetic narrations, studying under teachers in Basra, Kufa, Madinah, Makkah, and Yemen, and compiling the vast Musnad which records tens of thousands of hadith. His steadfastness during the trial of the created Qur'an became legendary, for he accepted imprisonment and beatings rather than retract what he knew from the teaching of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and his Companions (may God be pleased with them). Naming a Sharjah mosque after him honours that legacy of patience and scholarship. Emirati mosques favour a clean modern interpretation of classical Islamic architecture. A central dome sheathed in gleaming white stone, twin minarets crowned with crescent moons, pointed arched porticoes, geometric plasterwork around the mihrab, and spacious ablution rooms with chilled water for the summer heat mark the style. Inside, thick carpets patterned with the outline of prayer niches guide worshippers into neat rows, chandeliers hang from the central dome, and the sound of the muadhdhin carries softly across the quiet residential streets. Daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at Al Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal Mosque in Sharjah, together with its address, a location map, and helpful visitor notes, are offered on this page for emirate residents, travellers from Dubai and Ajman, and international guests spending time in the Gulf. Sharjah is celebrated for the Heart of Sharjah heritage district, the Blue Souq, the al Qasba lagoon, and the Noor Islam Mosque. After Isha, worshippers often greet one another in the refined Gulf manner, exchanging wishes of safe evenings and the hospitable invitations to qahwa and dates that mark every friendly encounter in the emirate.
