Tentang

Madrasatu Al Hassanain in Dar es Salaam carries the name of Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn, the two beloved grandsons of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), whose lives are held up across the ummah as examples of nobility, courage and love for the Prophet's household. The masjid and madrasa operate as a single community hub, with daily prayers held in congregation and religious education offered to children in the neighbourhood. The building is simple — whitewashed walls, a central prayer hall, a courtyard where shoes are left and conversations are held after salah — but the atmosphere is unmistakably warm, shaped by years of shared worship and teaching. Friday khutbah is delivered in Kiswahili, often drawing on the Prophetic household's example to speak about family life, honesty and the upbringing of children, themes that resonate strongly with the surrounding households. The afternoon teaching programme covers Qur'an recitation and memorisation, tajweed, the essentials of aqeedah, and the fiqh of purification, prayer and fasting. Teachers also devote time to the seerah and, where appropriate, to stories from the lives of the ahl al-bayt, which pupils seem to find especially memorable. A noticeable feature of the school is its gentle discipline: mistakes are corrected quietly, and good behaviour is praised openly, which keeps even the younger children happy to return each day. During Ramadan the mosque hosts full taraweeh, communal iftars and late-night Qur'an recitation for those who wish to listen. Visitors passing through Dar es Salaam are welcome to attend prayer at Madrasatu Al Hassanain, and anyone moved by its work is encouraged to support the teachers' modest stipends and the provision of teaching materials for the children who come week after week. A small garden near the entrance, tended by one of the older worshippers, holds a few fruit trees whose shade children enjoy after class, and the gentle scene of young Muslims reciting beneath familiar trees gives Madrasatu Al Hassanain an atmosphere of continuity that no modern facility could easily reproduce.
