Tentang

Amid the highland town of Azna in Lorestan province in western Iran, Masjid Hazrat Fatimah salam Allah alayha hosts worshippers alongside the Imam Hasan al Askari Cultural Centre, offering a warm gathering place for the surrounding Lor community. Azna sits in a wide valley at around eighteen hundred metres above sea level, surrounded by the snow capped ridges of the Zagros mountains that have sheltered the Lur tribes for many centuries. The region of Lorestan is celebrated in Iranian history for its bronze age artefacts, its nomadic pastoral heritage, and its deep attachment to traditional poetry and epic storytelling. The mosque carries the name of Fatimah al Zahra (may God be pleased with her), the beloved daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), whose patient devotion, tender love for her husband Ali and her children Hasan and Husayn (may God be pleased with them), and modest wisdom have inspired Iranian poets for more than a thousand years. Connecting the mosque with a cultural centre dedicated to the eleventh Imam, Hasan al Askari (may God be pleased with him), roots the community's faith in the living chain of the Ahl al Bayt whose memory is cherished across the Iranian plateau. Lor architecture reflects the cold continental climate. Thick walls of local stone and plaster, small arched windows framed by hand carved wooden shutters, a compact tiled dome over the mihrab, and kerosene heaters that warm worshippers through the long snowy winters give the mosque its sober but welcoming character. Inside, patterned Persian carpets donated by local families soften the floor, calligraphic panels praising the Prophet hang on the walls, and a simple wooden minbar awaits the Friday khutbah. Daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at Masjid Hazrat Fatimah in Azna, its address, a location map, and visitor notes, are provided on this page for Lor families, students at the local schools, travellers from Khorramabad and Arak, and pilgrims touring western Iran. Lorestan is famed for the Falak ol Aflak castle, the ancient Bishapur reliefs, and the breathtaking waterfalls of Bisheh and Nojian. After Maghrib, worshippers at this mosque often gather outside in the cool mountain air to share glasses of black tea, lumps of sugar, and plates of fresh local bread baked in tanur ovens in the courtyards of nearby homes throughout the valley.
