Tentang

Commemorating one of the most honoured figures of the first generation of Muslim history, the masjid named after the noble Companion Abdullah bin al Zubayr, may God be pleased with him and with his father, gathers its worshippers in the residential neighbourhood of al Rabiyah within the Al Asimah governorate of the State of Kuwait. Abdullah was the first Muslim child born in the city of Medina after the migration of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, from Mecca, and his birth brought great joy to the Muslims after a period during which their enemies had claimed that magic had rendered them unable to bear children in their new home.

The young Abdullah was raised in the household of his father Zubayr bin al Awwam, may God be pleased with him, one of the ten Companions promised Paradise, and of his mother Asma bint Abi Bakr, may God be pleased with her, the honoured daughter of the first caliph. Known for his remarkable courage, his piety, and his eloquence, Abdullah later served as caliph over much of the Muslim world from the holy city of Mecca during the turbulent years following the death of Mu'awiyyah. His steadfastness during the siege of the Kaaba remained an example of devotion to truth for all generations.

The al Rabiyah masjid reflects the tasteful contemporary Gulf style, with clean whitewashed exterior walls, ceramic tiled panels around the mihrab, tall windows that admit soft evening light, and generous separate facilities thoughtfully provided for women worshippers. Jumu'ah draws Kuwaiti families, teachers, engineers, and resident professionals from many Muslim lands into a single congregation whose khutbah is delivered in clear classical Arabic. During Ramadan the community shares nightly iftars of machboos, harees, fresh dates, Arabic coffee, and the beloved sweet luqaimat prepared by the women of the neighbourhood.

On this page worshippers and visitors will find accurate daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at the al Rabiyah masjid in Kuwait, along with its address, a helpful location map, and practical notes that assist residents of Al Asimah governorate, travellers passing through the Gulf on business or pilgrimage, families visiting relatives in the country, and students of the life of the noble Companions to share in the welcoming and gracious congregational worship offered here with warm Kuwaiti hospitality throughout the year.
