Tentang
Set within the coastal emirate of Ajman, the smallest yet one of the oldest of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Hameed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi Mosque serves a growing neighbourhood shaped by the sea, the creek, and the long ruling legacy of the Al Nuaimi family. The emirate itself takes its name from an Arabic word meaning civilisation, and for centuries its people lived by pearl diving, fishing, and dhow building along the Gulf waters. Today the old souq, the heritage fort, and the modern corniche coexist with expanding residential districts where this masjid carries forward the ancient habit of daily congregational prayer in Ajman.
Named after a respected member of the ruling Al Nuaimi household, the mosque honours a tradition in which leaders across the Arabian Peninsula build and sponsor houses of prayer for the benefit of the community, following the noble example of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, who himself helped carry stones during the raising of the first mosque in Madinah. The Companions, may God be pleased with them, learned from him that no gift to a town is more lasting than a place where God is remembered.
The design blends contemporary Emirati Gulf architecture with traditional motifs. A bright white facade, slender minaret, rounded dome, and arched windows frame a cool interior carpeted in soft blue, with chandeliers of Arabic geometric design hanging above rows of worshippers. Ablution rooms are generous, parking is ample, and shaded walkways link the mosque to surrounding villas and apartment blocks where many Emirati and expatriate families have made their home.
The congregation is multilingual, reflecting the remarkable diversity of Ajman, yet the five daily prayers, Jumu'ah, and taraweeh during Ramadan unite everyone in the same simple rows facing the qiblah. For visitors staying near the Ajman corniche, the heritage museum, or the modern shopping centres, this page provides current prayer times, address, and guidance helpful for any worshipper arriving from within the emirate or from neighbouring Sharjah and Dubai in search of a calm and welcoming place to offer salah without rush.
